When is the museum open?
The museum is open every day except Wednesdays. Different opening hours apply during school holidays and on public holidays.
Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and school holidays 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Closed on Wednesdays, except during the spring half-term holiday, Christmas holiday public holidays and the Ghent Festivities.

Great news! You don't need a ticket at all to explore certain parts of Design Museum Gent. We want everyone to enjoy design! That’s why you can visit the inner courtyard and the entire new wing completely free of charge. There you’ll find the museum shop, the exhibitions in Vitrine, and the best view of Ghent, among other highlights.
Ghent residents can visit the museum for free on the first Sunday of the month, during Late Thursday, and throughout the Ghent Festivities (Gentse Feesten).
