Volunteers
The time has almost come: in October, we will celebrate the reopening of Design Museum Gent. To help everything run smoothly, we are still looking for extra helping hands, both in the museum and at various locations across the city.
What can you do?
- Reception
As a host, you are a point of contact for visitors in the museum or at one of our locations across the city. You welcome people, help them find their way with maps and practical information, and contribute to a warm and friendly experience of the city and the festival. Whether they are design enthusiasts, curious passers-by or international guests, you make a difference by helping them find their way with ease and a smile. A good knowledge of Dutch and/or English is therefore recommended. - Stewarding
As a steward, you keep an eye on things at several Design Fest locations across the city.
- Visitor surveys
As a visitor surveyor, you help us collect valuable information from visitors through a short questionnaire. This feedback helps us improve what we do. Every response helps us move forward.
- Catering
As part of the catering team, you make sure that crew members and artists can count on good food, a drink and a moment of rest behind the scenes. You help create a welcoming space where people can recharge. You do not need to cook: your role involves maintaining the catering area, setting up the buffet, washing dishes, tidying up, and more.
- Assisting with workshops and events
You help both behind the scenes and on the floor during workshops, talks, debates and events. You support set-up and take-down, welcome participants and lend a hand wherever needed.
- Technical crew
You help with the installation and dismantling of various exhibitions: moving objects, packing them and carrying out condition checks. Please note that this period differs from the other volunteer roles. We are looking for people who are available between 15 August and 30 September.
