Workshop
Glitermeinkloof - Cinte Wittoek
During her workshops, Cinte Wittoek invites children to engage with current affairs. Armed with a critical eye, plenty of creativity and existing newspapers, they cut, rearrange and redesign content to investigate how news can be told differently. Along the way, they create their own publications, where image, form and content come together.
An ordinary newspaper becomes a playground for their own questions, ideas and stories. In a very hands-on way, children discover how design can help them question and reimagine the world around them.

More about the designer
Cinte Wittoek combines her background in product development and graphic design with her work as a primary school teacher. She develops participatory workshops in which children experiment, imagine and shape their own voice through graphic design. Her practice moves between design, play and education, with the creative and critical perspective of children always at its heart.
