Weaving Shelters - Jaron Vandevelde & Ida Bomm
How can design contribute to a better living environment for both people and animals? Find out for yourself in this workshop and weave a shelter for birds using Belgian willow branches.
You will be introduced to Meer Koet, Minder Afval (More Coots, Less Waste), a project that creates nesting places for coots along Ghent’s waterways. In a hands-on way, you will discover how design, biodiversity and circular thinking come together. No prior experience is needed, and you can work entirely at your own pace. Roll up your sleeves, let your creativity flow and help weave the city of the future.

More about the designers
Collabradors (Jaron Vandevelde & Ida Bomm) investigates how we can design with nature rather than for it. In their work, the behaviour and needs of animals shape the final outcome. Through prototypes and installations, they rethink humanity’s role within the ecosystem, creating tangible space for a more inclusive, more-than-human world.
