Workshop
Tsunagu つなぐ
Tsunagu つなぐ means “to connect” in Japanese, and in this workshop you will take that quite literally. You connect with your hands, with wood, with light and with the makers behind the design.
The Tsunagu lighting collection by Volmaakt, developed together with the team of Dirk van Gogh (Futures through Design, HOGENT/KASK & Conservatorium), combines sleek Japanese design with the craftsmanship of our local social economy. The secret? Sipo wood and clever joinery techniques without a single drop of glue or a screw. Made to last a lifetime.
After a short introduction by Dirk about the story behind the collection, it is your turn to roll up your sleeves. You will get hands-on with the wooden joints and start working alongside the designer: building, sketching and experimenting. You will quickly feel how material, light and form come together.
