Self-As-Other-Trainings - Vivien Tauchmann
Immerse yourself in a unique experience where movement, sound and empathy come together! Self-As-Other-Trainings invite you to reconnect with the world and the people around you through your own body.
Take part in a series of immersive, choreographed sessions featuring simple movements, inspiring audio and gentle guidance. You will perform physical acts of empathy and experience first-hand what it feels like to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. By moving together and taking a moment to reflect on what you feel, you will challenge deeply ingrained patterns and blur the boundaries between “us” and “them”.
Two sessions are available, each focusing on a different theme. Session 1, Self-As-Other-Training: Smartphone, sheds light on the daily routines of millions of workers along smartphone assembly lines. Session 2, Self-As-Other-Training: Textiles, explores the daily routines of millions of workers across the textile supply chain.
Vivien Tauchmann will lead a third session on Friday, 6 November. You can find more information about it here.

Drop-in Guided Tour Public Matter(s): Design and Democracy
Not in the mood to wander through the galleries on your own? We’ll bring together a curious bunch of visitors, and the guide will bring the insights. Together, we’ll dive into our temporary exhibition and discover how design shapes our democracy.
Why do we actually vote with a red pencil? Why are parliamentary buildings so imposing? And how does design influence our behaviour, our choices and even our protests? After all, democracy is not a fixed concept, but something we create together every day. You’ll discover that design is not just about aesthetics, but also a powerful driver of change. After this guided tour, you’re guaranteed to see the world around you through different eyes: not as a passive user, but as someone who helps design the future.
