Patch and Badge Making - Sadie Williams

Give your clothing or bag a personal touch! In this creative teen workshop, you will learn how to create a unique design with patches and badges that reflects your own style. Guided by fashion and textile designer Sadie Williams, you will experiment with colour, patterns and heat-transfer techniques to apply your own designs to textiles. 

You will work with reclaimed fabrics and a variety of materials to make original patches and badges. Along the way, you will discover how creativity and reuse go hand in hand, and how small interventions can give a garment a second life. At the end of the workshop, you will take home a collection of handmade patches and badges to personalise your favourite clothing or accessories.

More about the designer

Sadie Williams is a British textile artist and designer who plays with colour, bold patterns and a wide range of media, from fashion and visual art to animation and scenography. After studying at Central Saint Martins, she spent several years showing her work at London Fashion Week before leaving the fast fashion system behind in 2018. From then on, she took a different direction, placing sustainability, upcycling and the inventive reuse of materials at the heart of her practice. 

In her work, she combines craftsmanship with a clean graphic style and innovative textile techniques. Alongside her label, Sadie shares her passion through workshops, community projects and teaching at museums and universities. For her, making things is a way of bringing people together, sparking curiosity and encouraging everyone to express themselves.
