Open receptie desk

For seven days, you are invited to Design Museum Gent to share your ideas about activities, events and other public programmes. We welcome designers, organisations, local residents, visitors and curious citizens to help shape what happens in the new wing, how it happens and who it involves. Staff member Lyra Oey will welcome you at the OPEN RECEPTION DESK. During a short 15-minute conversation, we collect ideas to inspire our programme and look for connections that could lead to new collaborations.

Do you have a concrete proposal, an early-stage idea, a topic that deserves more attention or a group you would like to see represented in the museum? No booking needed. Just drop by and share your idea!

Perhaps you are thinking of a neighbourhood picnic in our garden, a reading group for non-native speakers in the lecture hall, or a workshop based on a particular design research project?

We want to learn from you and hear what you would like to see reflected in the public programme of Design Museum Gent.

Making the museum together

The new wing will be an open meeting place for ideas, exhibitions, conversations and new communities. What happens there in the future is something we would like to shape together with you. Design Museum Gent aims for 50% of its public programme to be initiated by, or developed in collaboration with, visitors, creatives, local residents and a wide range of communities.
