Reminiscence suitcase
Dinner Time
Sometimes a whole lifetime is hidden in the smell of freshly baked waffles or the sound of rattling cutlery. With our Memory Suitcase, we bring the museum to residential care homes and travel back in time together.
We gather around the table and let the senses lead the way. As the table is set, memories begin to surface. What was your favourite Sunday meal? Which family recipes were passed down through generations? Using familiar objects and sensory prompts, we share stories about celebrations, everyday routines and the flavours of the past.
This experience is about more than conversation. Together we touch, listen, taste and smell. We sing familiar songs and perhaps even dance a little.
Dinner Time has been specially developed for people living with dementia and for older adults who enjoy sharing memories in a safe, familiar environment.
