Studio Grafisch Ontwerp
A programme for recent graphic design graduates
Studio Graphic Design is an unique and inspiring programme especially for recently graduated graphic designers from LUCA School of Arts and KASK & Conservatory, which focuses on revising the identity of Design Museum Ghent.
During the museum's renovation and expansion, Studio Grafisch Ontwerp dives deep into exploring the different identities a museum can take on today. It is a fascinating process involving experimentation, self-initiated projects and internal assignments. The aim is to explore various (graphic) identities and understand how they can contribute to the experience of the museum.
What makes this programme special is the dynamic composition of the team. Members of Studio Grafisch Ontwerp are regularly alternated, which ensures a fresh and diverse perspective on the creative processes and results. Currently, the team consists of Haron Barashed, Arno Huygens, Anthony Demeyere and Valentijn Goethals, and they will soon be joined by Marie Dekeersmaecker.
Design Museum Gent and 019 provide a professional framework that allows participants to work in a stimulating and professional environment, which benefits their learning process and creative development.
During the summer months, Studio Grafisch Ontwerp moves to DING Vitrine where they continue to work on the museum's identity. During working hours, they project their screens live, allowing everyone to follow their process. They also organise weekly live feedback sessions with local and international graphic designers to discuss this evolution.
